The work Cognitive Marketing and Hudson Valley Community College Development and Communications team have been doing to reposition the College for the 21st Century has necessarily focused intently on the emergence of a rapidly growing new market for higher education—one that has the potential to change the face of community colleges across the nation: the retiring Baby Boomer generation. On June 4th Hudson Valley Community College held its first community conference “Conversations on Work & Learning—Careers and Education for the Second Half of Life.” The keynote speaker was Marc Freedman, CEO of Civic Ventures, and author of Encore: Finding Work That Matters in the Second Half of Life.
